The history, artifacts and culture of Mexico obviously play a huge part in its universal appeal, and the time has never been better to stop considering a Mexican holiday and actually get yourself over there. Take the proverbial bull by the horns and book yourself the trip of a lifetime. This is an oft overused term when it comes to travel but it could have been invented for Mexico.
Over the past decade or so Mexico’s popularity as one of the world’s top tourist destinations has been on the up and up, yet is has achieved where so many have failed and stayed true to its roots. It is a vastly unexplored and while it has its fair share of luxury resorts, nobody can call Mexico as over-developed, which just adds to it charm.
The authorities have embraced tourism, give the visitors what they want but have in no way compromised their country. They are rightly proud of this as many countries have been spoiled by mass tourism and are very much cater to foreigners rather than staying true to themselves. The premise is simple here; welcome to Mexico, we are so happy to see you, but while here you can live the Mexican way. If only more countries followed this ethic.
There are many well known Mexican holiday hot-spots, such as Cancun and Acapulco, but there are even more that you have probably heard mentioned but weren’t actually aware of the fact they were in Mexico. Oaxaca, Chihuaha, Guanajuanto, Santiago de Queretaro and Puebla are just a few of other great places to visit while you are on your Mexican holiday. Whether you use one of these destinations as a base or take a tour, it is entirely depends on what you want from your trip.

Few realize of just how expansive the coasts of Mexico are, and there are stunning beaches to be found on all three coastlines which border the Pacific Ocean, Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. If pushed to choose the best, the general consensus is that those on the Caribbean coast have an edge over the rest. The sapphire waters, white sands and palm trees will make you feel as you are on a Caribbean Island, and the laid back ambiance just adds to it.
There is a great choice of water sports off these coasts, as well as several great diving areas. For those who prefer to keep their feet on solid ground there is also plenty to do. Tennis and horse riding are very popular here as is football, and catching a game when on your Mexican holiday is highly recommended, if only to soak up the energy and atmosphere of the ground.
