The following ideas can fill up your entire trip or just a day so make sure to pick and choose, so that you have the best experience possible while in Nuevo Vallarta.
The zip lines will take a lot of courage, but they are well worth it as they are an experience that you will never forget. The Rio Cuale and Los Veranos are both great places to start for beginners. They do require a moderate amount of walking uphill so you need to be in reasonable shape, but the payoff is huge as the lines reach out over a river gorge.
Los Veranos also has many zoo animals at the zip line entrance that you can pose with including a very large python. On the other hand, the River Canopy is a whopping 400 feet into the air and the zip liner can choose to hang upside down if he or she wishes. Both places offer great employees that will make you feel like part of a family while you are there. They also are organized and offer pick-up service from any resort although you should plan on being on a bus for a reasonable ride.
Sailing in Style
Next up on the list of things to do in Nuevo Vallarta is luxury sailing. Vallarta Adventures luxury sail is known as one of the best ways to spend a day out on the bay. The luxury sailing company only takes out small numbers so you get plenty of attention and help with all of the available attractions on the sail which include the chance to see dolphins, sail, and snorkel. Plus, the sail includes breakfast and lunch. Of course, the price tag is a bit up there, but the experience is well worth it for a time of relaxation and exploration on holiday.

Many companies also rent out snorkel boats for private trips, but they have 65 people per boat in group. Ecotours is probably a bit more reasonable for most people. They take out ten people at a time and offer trips to the Marietas Islands where you can not only see plenty of marine life, but also many different birds such as the blue footed booby (they really do have blue feet!) and frigate birds.
Depending on the time of year that you are in Neuvo Vallarta there may be hundreds of humpback whales playing in the Banderas Bay. They tend live in the Bay between the months of November and March and can be watched on boats from the area.
